Junior Ring Ceremony: April 12th, 9am @ Large Gym Junior Prom: April 12th @ Mellwood Arts Center Senior Prom: May 11th Senior Graduation: June 8th, 4pm @ Freedom Hall ************************************************************************** IMPORTANT LINKS: Cap and Gown Information link Current Athletic Schedule Link ************************************************************************** EARLY DISMISSAL: Early dismissal notes must be turned into the Attendance Office before 7:40 am (p. 6 of Student Handbook). We will not be accepting email early dismissals after this time. If a student gets sick during the school day, we will evaluate on a case by case basis. If an appointment is scheduled after 7:40 am, the student will need to be physically signed out. Please plan accordingly. SENIOR GRADUATION: As of now, graduation is set for Saturday, June 8th at 4:00 at Freedom Hall JUNIOR CEREMONY: The Junior Ceremony will be held this Friday, April 12, at 9:00am in the large gym. All parents are invited to attend. There will be plenty of seating, however parking is limited, so please plan to arrive early. All students will be recognized during this ceremony. Students must attend this ceremony to be able to attend Junior Prom Friday evening at the Mellwood Arts Center. Students who turned in their early dismissal forms by the deadline, will be able to leave immediately following the ceremony. Students who did not, will be required to return to class or be signed out in the attendance office by a parent after the ceremony. WEEKEND SCHOOL EVENTS/SENIOR PROM: In order to attend an after school event, students must be in attendance at least 3 hours of that instructional day. If the school event is on a Saturday (i.e. Senior Prom), that student must be in attendance on Friday (p. 7 of Student Handbook). Any early dismissals on that day must be for a reason as stated in the handbook or the early dismissal will be considered unexcused and students may not be allowed to makeup work for the missed time (p. 7 of Student Handbook). If you are scheduling appointments related to prom (i.e. hair, nails, fittings) please do so after school hours or the day of prom. RAMDOM ACTS OF KINDNESS: Manual parents, as you know, exam week(s) can be stressful times for students. In order to help alleviate some of that stress, the RAMdom Acts of Kindness Club offers the opportunity to purchase care packages for students. The order form can be accessed from the link below. Please mail the form along with payment to Manual or drop them off in the main office with attention to Thayne Bruszewski. Thank you to the kind parents who have offered to purchase packages for other students who may be having a difficult time -- we were able to give away over 30 boxes to students in need in December. If you would like to do this, please indicate so on the order form. These packages will be given anonymously to students who are struggling in some way with a note to let them know someone is thinking of them. This year's care packages will contain food; while we will take care to avoid common allergens, please fill out the appropriate line if there are any food items your student should not have. Please direct any questions to thayne.bruszewski@jefferson.kyschools.us. Forms for AP week are due no later than 5/1; forms for finals week are due no later than 5/13. If you preordered in December, we have your order on file for May. RAMdom Acts of Kindness Link HSU MENTORS PROGRAM: HSU Mentor program is open to all current sophomores and juniors. In this organization, HSU upperclassmen mentor a group of incoming freshman and help facilitate a smooth transition into Manual. There will be various events throughout the school year that mentors will be required to attend. The application deadline to be considered for a HSU Mentor 2019-2020 position is 4/15/19. For more information or if you have any additional questions, feel free to email Elizabeth Arnold at elizabeth.arnold@me.com.
