• Manual's Drama Club presents: Black History...Our History - Black History Month Celebration! We are pleased to announce the annual Black History Month Celebration will take place on Wednesday, Feb 3, 2016 @ 9:30am. The program will be held in the YPAS Auditorium.
• Trivia Night - Saturday, Feb 6th 6pm at 4315 Preston Highway. $120/adult table; $60/student table. Proceeds benefit the Boys Basketball Team. Prizes, raffles, and chili dinner! Contact david.m.schaaf@usace.army.mil to register or call (502) 648-7166. See attached flyer.
• Congratulations to the 52 students from Manual who were recognized by the Scholastic Art Awards. Many received multiple recognitions. Their work will be displayed beginning Friday, Feb. 5 at the Kentucky Museum of Arts and Craft Satellite Space, 611 W. Main Street and the awards ceremony will be held Thursday 2/11 6-7:30 at Gheens Academy.

The Guidance Office will host a FAFSA Completion Assistance Night on Feb. 1, 2016 from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM. Assistance will be located in room 113, which is a computer lab.
You are welcome to start processing your student’s FAFSA on your own as the FAFSA window opened the 1st of January. Gene Weis, from KHEAA, will be available on February 1st at Manual to help families complete/finish, check answers, or clarify any questions.

URGENT-CALL TO ACTION-POSSIBLE BUDGET CUTS (by: Pinky Jackson, PTSA President)
The Manual PTSA Advocacy Committee has been working to understand the implications to our school, and to students throughout the district, if the schools' budgets are cut. Please go here for details and contact information for the district, state, and school leaders that need to hear from you. Share your input, then join us a the rally today(1-7-16, 6:30pm, Westport Middle School gym) and/or the board meeting on Monday (1-11-16, 6:45pm, Vanhoose Education Center).

Leadership at the state, district, and local level need to hear from YOU, as parents, teachers, students, family members and friends of Manual and of education. Each phone call, email, letter counts.
