PLEASE SEND IN TODAY - The school district is conducting a search for a new superintendent. Kentucky law requires the district to create a seven-member superintendent screening committee to make recommendations to the board of education regarding the appointment of a superintendent. One of the members of the committee shall be a minority parent, who shall be elected by the parents of the school district. The 10 names on this ballot were randomly drawn from nominations made by school principals. The descriptions of the parents were provided by their school principals. Parents and guardians are asked to vote for one of the candidates listed on this ballot and have their student return this ballot to school by Monday, October 30. As part of Frazier History Museum’s wildly popular An Evening with Poe performance series, student artists from across the region were invited to create 2D artwork inspired by Edgar Allan Poe. The majority of 30 pieces selected to display in the Museum, were created by Manual students taught by Ms. Tallent and Mr. DeWeese, including all of the top three entries! (September 28-November 2). • Congratulations to the Crimson Sound Marching Band for advancing to the KMEA Class 5A State Semifinals at Papa John's Stadium. This is a representation of the top 16 bands in the state. The band will perform at 12:30 pm THIS Saturday, October 28th. Tickets to the 5A State semifinals can be purchased at the ticket window for $12.

Game Information REMINDER - NO backpacks or outside drinks/food will be allowed in the stadium. Anyone with a backpack or large purse MUST ENTER thru the Pass Gate and will be searched. ALL drinks, even those in personal water bottles, will be disposed of.

DuPont Manual Student Artwork On-Display at Frazier History Museum
As part of Frazier History Museum’s wildly popular An Evening with Poe performance series, student artists from across the region were invited to create 2D artwork inspired by Edgar Allan Poe. The majority of 30 pieces selected to display in the Museum, were created by Manual students taught by Ms. Tallent and Mr. DeWeese, including all of the top three entries! (September 28-November 2). Burial of the Bulldog at 7:10am and everyone is encouraged to attend. Come to the auditorium in the morning to hear our special guest eulogizer, student Sam Green, give the final words on our hated enemy, the bulldog.
• Friday October 20th – Pep Rally and Male/Manual Game (Dress-up is Ultimate Spirit Day)
Spirit Day and the pep rally is that afternoon. Alumni event at school before game. Game that evening at Manual Stadium.

Starting on Monday, October 16, advance tickets will be for sale for the Male vs. Manual football game. The game will be played on Friday, October 20, at 7:30 pm at duPont Manual Memorial Stadium. The Male-Manual rivalry is one of the oldest high school rivalries in the nation with the first game being played in 1893, one year after Manual opened and just four years after Centre College introduced Kentucky to the version of rugby known as "football".
Below is a listing of game information.
TICKET INFORMATION
• ADVANCE TICKETS - $6 available at both Male and Manual. Spectators are encouraged to purchase advance tickets to avoid the long lines expected.
• TICKETS AT GAME - $10 ($10 & Under - Free)
GAME ENTRANCE INFORMATION
No backpacks or outside drinks/food will be allowed in the stadium. Anyone with a backpack or large purse MUST ENTER thru the Pass Gate and will be searched. ALL drinks, even those in personal water bottles, will be disposed of.
PASS INFORMATION (CRIMSON CARDS, RAM CARDS, FACULTY PASSES & COACHING PASSES)
• The pass gate for Friday night's football game is located next to the Robert Schroeder Alumni House on Burnett Street, near the main entrance of the stadium. All spectators using Crimson Cards, Ram Cards, Manual Faculty Passes, and Coaching Passes, that are not parking inside the stadium, will need to enter through this gate. No other pedestrian gates will accept passes.
PARKING INFORMATION
• A limited amount of parking space is available inside of Manual Stadium for $5 per vehicle.

Spread the word to friends, family and coworkers. Collecting will continue until game day, October 20th.

• DuPont Manual Student Artwork On-Display at Frazier History Museum
As part of Frazier History Museum’s wildly popular An Evening with Poe performance series, student artists from across the region were invited to create 2D artwork inspired by Edgar Allan Poe. The majority of 30 pieces selected to display in the Museum, were created by Manual students taught by Ms. Tallent and Mr. DeWeese, including all of the top three entries! (September 28-November 2). This is the 125th anniversary of Manual vs Male rivalry. LOTS of activities for the students and the parents to be involved. We need volunteers to make this year's Red/White week memorable for the students.

Red/white week activities:
Friday Oct 13th- decorate the school (PLEASE HELP BY DONATING ITEMS OR TIME)
Monday October 16th – Ramstock (Dress-up theme is Scholar vs Baller)
Our annual battle of the bands/music festival after school. We have three bands composed entirely of Manual students who are going to compete for who will play at the pep rally. Come to the courtyard after school for free popcorn, pizza, and live music. There will also be a 125th Rivalry photo booth set up for the exclusive use of the class that wins the student membership challenge
Tuesday Oct 17th (Dress-up is Dynamic Duo)
Wednesday October 18th – Crimson Carnival (Dress-up is Costume Day)
Come down to the front lawn after school for music, free food, carnival games, and a chance to dunk the administrators after school from 2:30 to 4:00. Teachers are welcome to come down and play games and eat. Students will be hanging out, earning points towards their class winning the spirit stick, and completing in preliminaries for the pep rally.
Powder Puff Footbal Game. The Juniors will take on the Seniors to see which class can come out on top. The game will take place at Manual Stadium @ 6:00.
Thursday October 19th – Burial of the Bulldog (Dress-up is Doomsday)
Burial of the Bulldog at 7:10am and everyone is encouraged to attend. Come to the auditorium in the morning to hear our special guest eulogizer, student Sam Green, give the final words on our hated enemy, the bulldog.
Friday October 20th – Pep Rally and Male/Manual Game (Dress-up is Ultimate Spirit Day)
Spirit Day and the pep rally is that afternoon. Alumni event at school before game. Game that evening at Manual Stadium.

Come experience 30 rooms of horror as you explore the mysterious areas of our school. Tickets will be sold in the small gym. Look for the Halloween inflatable standing outside the old gym to the right side of the courtyard. (Please see attachment at bottom for information and a coupon)
For younger children, we will have a free room for trick-or-treating, face painting and craft making while parents and older siblings tour the haunted house. Please support the Manual Crimson Basketball teams in this fundraiser.

• The annual Collection Challenge with Male High School for Red/White week has begun! We are collecting all sizes of NEW SOCKS for JCPS Clothing Assistance Program(CAP). Especially needed: infant & toddler sizes and no-show styles for adults. Place socks in marked boxes at all school entrances, including YPAS & YPAS Annex. Spread the word to friends, family and coworkers. Collecting will continue until game day, October 20th.
• 3rd Annual duPont Dungeon of Doom & Crimson CarnEvil will take place on October 7th from 6:30-11:30 PM. Come experience 30 rooms of horror as you explore the mysterious areas of our school. Tickets will be sold in the small gym. Look for the Halloween inflatable standing outside the old gym to the right side of the courtyard. (Please see attachment at bottom for information and a coupon)
For younger children, we will have a free room for trick-or-treating, face painting and craft making while parents and older siblings tour the haunted house. Please support the Manual Crimson Basketball teams in this fundraiser.

Science Fair Fundraiser event has been moved to Nov 9th. The evening will feature a panel discussion entitled “Selective Colleges Interview Process”. A team of distinguished guests who interview high school students for admission to Harvard, MIT, Princeton, and UPenn will answer your questions about the interview process.
