• Juniors and Seniors: Valid documentation to excuse an absence as a College Visit is as follows:
1) A letter stating the student's name and visitation date on University/College letterhead OR 2) An email confirmation of the student's visit with student name, visitation date, and University/College contact information listed.
Parent notes, pictures, generic brochures, etc. are NOT considered valid documentation for a college visit absence.

Get your trivia teams together! Publishers is hosting their second annual Trivia Night and Silent Auction! We encourage and welcome Manual teachers, administration staff, students, families, friends, and anyone who wants to have a fun evening. Doors open at 6:15 with the first question being read at 7:00 pm. There will be plenty of good food and refreshments so come join us for a fun evening! • Come to the Physics Tutoring Club if you are struggling in physics! Mondays in room 228 from 2:30 to 3:30.
• Tutoring done FOR students, BY students! No sign-up necessary - just show up in the library any Monday - Thursday from 2:30-3:30. Sponsored by NHS!
• Need Spanish tutoring? NHS in collaboration with SHH will have Spanish tutors available Mon.-Thurs. from 2:30-3:30pm in the library during Nov. and Dec.
• Bishop Gene Robinson, a nationally recognized speaker, author and LGBT activist, will speak Nov. 22 at 4 p.m. in the Manual Auditorium. This is part of the ConsiderThis speaker series organized by J&C and The Publishers. The event is free and open to the public, but a $5 donation is requested. Baked goods will be for sale from 2:30 to 4 p.m. just outside the auditorium. For more information about this or future speakers go to www.ThePublishers.org. All donations and proceeds from the bake sale will be used by The Publishers to help support J&C.
• Basketball Season is coming up and the boys basketball team is selling STADIUM BLEACHER SEATS! These seats feature bungee cord cushioning, a durable steel frame and are made of tough cordova canvas. They are available in red or black with an embroidered M on them. Seats easily attach to metal or wood bleachers and provide comfortable back support. Order your seat by contacting Patti Carns at 303-0736 or by email at JPCarns@bellsouth.net. Cost of each seat is $60. Don't sit through another game with a sore back. Thank you for supporting your Manual boys basketball team!
• Seniors - as you think about college choices and financial aid, consider applying for a PTSA Scholarship. The DuPont Manual PTSA generously awards up to four $600 scholarships each school year to students who are pursing higher education or vocational training. Previous award winners have been actively involved in the PTSA and have supported PTSA events. The application can be found at http://goo.gl/zp1CKF and/or is attached here. • Crimson Mission Gala March 4 at The Henry Clay--- Auction Items needed! This year we are looking to get some "BIg TIcket" items to auction off during a live auction. Examples- Vacation Homes, Access to Suites/game tickets, Churchill Downs package, orthodontic package, jewlery etc. We are also looking for items for our silent auctions- gift card for restaurants services, art work, alcohol baskets etc. Please consider donating to this great event or talk to other Manual parents/ alumni that might be intereseted!
