SBDM

School-based decision-making (SBDM) was mandated by state law in 1990 to promote shared leadership among those who are closest to the students. Membership of each council includes parents, teachers and an administrator of the school. The council has the responsibility to set school policy and make decisions in many areas, including curriculum, staff and student assignment, school schedules, use of school space, instructional practices, student discipline, and extracurricular programming. 


2017 SBDM Election Results

Jennifer Tuvlin was elected to the SBDM in May 2017 and serves from July 2017 through June 2019. Kent Hall was elected to the SBDM in May 2016 and serves from July 2016 through June 2018. Shannon Evans will be rolling off in June 2017 after serving from 2015-2017. A huge thank you to Shannon for her work the past two years!


2017 SBDM Nominations

We have two SBDM Parent Representatives who each serve a 2 year term; the terms are staggered so there is an opening and election held each year. The nominee must have a child enrolled at Manual for the full term he or she will serve. Nominations for the Parent Representative (2017-2019) were due April 11, 2017. SBDM Parent Representative Election Process and Voting

SBDM Elections were held online May 2nd through May 4th. Parent, step-parents, foster parents or legal guardians of a student attending duPont Manual High School during the 2017-2018 school year were eligible to vote.

There was an online forum/Q&A through the PTSA Facebook group beginning May 1, with responses continuing through the close of voting on May 4th. Please contact Vidya Ravichandran with any questions regarding the process.
