2017 PTSA ECE/GAP Scholarship
The duPont Manual High School PTSA is awarding a special $600 scholarship to a graduating GAP or ECE student. To be considered, student MUST be a graduating senior in good standing from duPont Manual High School, a member in good standing of the duPont Manual PTSA, and considered to be a GAP (underrepresented or having to overcome obstacles to success) or ECE student.

15th District PTSA scholarships
The 15th District PTSA (of which duPont Manual High School is a member in good standing) is offering Evangeline J. Sansome Scholarships. We will not know the dollar amount or number of scholarships being given out until April 2017. In the past it has averaged around $1,700 and generally around 10-18 scholarships. To be eligible, students must be graduating seniors attending a high school in Jefferson County whose PTSA is a unit of the Kentucky Congress of Parents and Teachers. This link will take you to the application. The scholarship goes towards tuition only. The deadline is March 15, 2017.
KY PTA Scholarships
Each year, the Kentucky PTA awards a number of $500 scholarships to deserving high school seniors from schools with PTAs/PTSAs, who plan to attend accredited colleges or universities in Kentucky and pursue a degree in an educational field. Financial need, academic achievement, personal remarks, career plans and involvement in school and community service will be considered by the selection committee.
Checks will be issued in the names of the recipient and the college/university. NOTE: IRS regulations prohibit the issuing of a scholarship check without the recipient’s social security number.
Send the application available here, with
1) a letter of recommendation from the counselor, teacher or principal of your school (limit 1 page)
2) a copy of your grades from the sophomore, junior and senior year completed
3) an essay including: a brief personal history; your plans after graduation; your high school community service and extra-curricular activities.
The essay must be typed, double spaced and is limited to two pages, type no smaller than 10 point.
The deadline is February 15, 2017.
Recipient must use the scholarship within one year of receipt of award on course work to be completed. It cannot be used retroactively.
