The Crimson Mission, Inc. will host the 3rd annual Growing the Mission Gala, on March 10 at the Mellwood Arts Center. The Gala brings together alumni, parents, former parents and friends of Manual to celebrate our rich history, and to raise money to fund projects that will enhance students’ academic and extra-curricular experience. Read all about last year’s event here and check out the photos here.
During the Manual-Male game last October, the Crimson Mission presented the dMHS Athletic Department with a check for $25,000. The funds are being used to help with the startup of the field house behind the school.
This year, we hope to exceed last year’s fundraising. Every dollar raised will go toward financial assistance for duPont Manual and YPAS. We already have projects that need funding, such as the Manual Achievement Center, that will serve as an academic multipurpose room for all students. We also want to fund new projects as they develop, but we can’t do it without your support!
Come join us for a night of celebration, including dinner, open bar, silent and live auction items, late night events and more. Our Guests of Honor will be:
- Alumni – Rob King, 2000
- Athlete – Keenan Burton, 2003
- Past Educator – Geoff Lamb (former boys basketball coach from 1995-2003)
- Current Educator – Alesia Williams
- Friend of Manual – David Peak
- Special Recognition – Eugene “Big Gene” Garvin Jr. (former security officer at Manual)
