Make a difference with CAP this Thursday!

duPont Manual sends volunteers at least twice a year to help at the JCPS Clothing Assistance Program (CAP). CAP is a 15th District PTSA agency, which provides a place for families to come and pick out much needed gently-used clothing and new school uniforms, so that no student ever misses school and no parent ever misses work due to a lack of appropriate clothing. CAP is located behind Central High School Stadium at 319 South 15th Street, Louisville, KY 40203.

CAP needs volunteers to help sort, hang and arrange donated clothing. Sometimes volunteers also help JCPS parents find clothing items for their families. If you have any gently-used or new clothing you wish to donate, please bring it with you when you come to volunteer, or call (502) 485-7062 to make sure someone is available at the CAP location to receive the clothing on another day or time. Currently, CAP is especially in need of boys’ clothing and gently-used socks.

Our first volunteer day this year is Thursday, August 18.  Please sign up to help and plan to spend a couple of hours or more, anytime from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Even if all slots are filled, please feel free to join us at a time convenient to you. There is a lot of work to be done! We will also be serving with CAP on January 11, 2017.
