Project Graduation Planning Underway, Volunteers Needed

Seniors and parents of seniors – don’t plan anything for graduation night! JCPS hasn’t set the date yet, but we want to get the word out about this awesome all night party on graduation night. This is a free party for all graduating seniors and is the last time the graduating class will all be together. The budget for the event is $18,000 and is totally free to the students! We do need lots of help and donations to make this party a success, so please think about getting involved in some way. You can learn more about the event here.

The Project Graduation Committee could use some help with the following positions:

Donations Chair – We have a list of businesses that donate every year, and need someone to reach out to them and gather their donations for this year’s event. We also have parents/grandparents/alumni who send in checks which need to be gathered and turned in to the Treasurer, and prizes which need to be stored until the event (not a huge amount).

Volunteer Chair – This person would need to create a Sign-up Genius to send out – scheduling volunteers for PG night, reminding the volunteers of their commitment, and then be available on PG night to check in volunteers, route them to their positions and orient them on what to do.

Food Chair – Plan for, gather and confirm all food for PG night. At the event, Puzzles Fun Dome provides the pizza/drinks. The committee brings snacks (usually donated) and a light breakfast that includes coffee.

All positions are flexible as far as the days/times needed to be available, but you should plan to be there on PG night for at least a few hours. If this is not possible, we can work around that as well. We really just need help in planning for the night – many hands make light work!

Interested volunteers should email Jill Lauroesch or call (502) 291-3698.
