Spotlight: Beta Club

Manual Mentors help at Cochran.

betaThe Manual Beta Club is part of the National Beta Club organization whose mission is to promote the ideals of academic achievement, character, service, and leadership. At Manual, members are able to fulfill their volunteer requirement by volunteering at any nonprofit organization of their choice either at school or in the community. In addition, every member of Manual’s Beta Club is expected to volunteer at Cochran Elementary. The club sends Manual Mentors daily to assist Cochran students with math, reading, and other tasks in the classroom.

Ryan Kline, a three year Beta Club member finds, “being part of a service organization like Beta Club lets me immerse myself in the Louisville Community. I get to meet new people, help out at events, and have a great time. Beta Club lets me spread happiness and wellbeing to all kinds of people.”

The club is open to all students with an interest in community service with a minimum unweighted GPA of 3.2. Email for more information but note the club is not currently accepting applications for this year. The club sponsor is Ms. Dix. Student officers are Joey Minatel (President), Manting Xu (Vice President), and Secretaries Austin Kline, Ryan Kline, Riti Pathak, and Greg Schwartz.
